Ségla
is the second wine of the prestigious Château Rauzan-Ségla, a 2ème Cru Classé estate located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. Ségla is made from grapes that do not meet the stringent standards for the grand vin, often from younger vines or specific vineyard parcels. This results in a wine that can be enjoyed at a younger age while still offering many of the elegant characteristics of the main château.
Tasting notes and aging potential
- Flavor profile: Ségla typically offers a range of fruit flavors, including black cherry, blackberry, and cassis, along with notes of vanilla, spice, cedar, and violets. It is generally characterized as being fresh, fruity, and approachable.
 - Body and texture: It is described as being medium-bodied with silky, soft tannins, which makes it enjoyable in its youth.
 - Aging potential: While the grand vin of Château Rauzan-Ségla requires significant aging, Ségla is meant to be more accessible early on, though it still has the potential to age for up to 10 years.

Food pairings
Because of its balanced fruit and structure, Ségla pairs well with many dishes.
- Meats: Excellent with roasted lamb, pork chops, or beef stew.
 - Italian dishes: The wine is a good match for pizza or pasta with red sauce.
 - Cheese: It can also be paired with a variety of cheeses.
